Vanhoutte spirea (commonly called bridalwreath) is a vase-shaped shrub that arches gracefully toward the ground. It is a hybrid cross between S. trilobata x S. cantoniensis. Tiny white flowers appear in late April to May in clusters up to 2” wide that cover the branches profusely. Fall foliage color is usually not notable, but attractive purplish hues may develop.
