One of spring's most elegant flowering shrubs, the Chinese snowball (Viburnum macrocephalum 'Sterile') is all you need to make a statement. This beautiful shrub can be used as a border or trained into a small accent tree. With growth up to 10 feet and blooms that span 6 to 8 inches across. In the south it behaves as a semi-evergreen and may reach 20 feet in height. Give this showy bush, shrub or maybe a tree plenty room to grow.
Spectacular soft-ball size blooms will appear from April into May and in some areas into June. The flowers will be a pretty lime green then will turn to a pristine white. When flowering is over this bush blends into the background and becomes the backdrop for other flowering plants to stand out and make a statement.
Even though you will thoroughly enjoy this flowering bush outdoors, don't forget you can bring the beautiful blooms into your home as a cut flower. A gorgeous arrangement of snowball blooms will add a statement to any room in your home. An added bonus is the Chinese snowball does not put out a fragrance so you don't have to worry if you have a sensitive nose!!
