Description

Tonto Crape Myrtle is known for large clusters of soft-textured purplish-pink blooms. A fast-growing specimen, it is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub.

Newly planted Crape Myrtle
5 out of 5
Location: Oceanside California
Date: March 9, 2021
I ordered and received this 1 gallon tree in early January 2021 and placed it in my southern California backyard. Crape Myrtles are an unusual breed around here. I planted it right away while the smallish tree was dormant. Nothing special. I found some YouTube tips on staking and supporting the little fella while the roots grabbed hold. Now, in early March, I have growth with leaves sprouting and am pleased so far. My hope is this tree will become the colorful showpiece in my backyard in several years.
